PRODUCTION PROCESS / MEANS OF ACQUISITION OF RAW MATERIAL

Wire rod is manufactured by SAIL/RINL and is distributed by CITCO being Nodal Agency in Chandigarh, The wire rod is obtained on cash payment from CITCO/RINL Govt. approved source.

The distribution by CITCO is done based on the assessed capacity of the MSME unit. The old assessed capacity of the unit was 650 M.T. per annum till 31.03.2007 and the projected data/balance sheet is based on this assessed capacity. The revised capacity is now 2220 M.T. per annum, which is almost 3.4 times the old capacity thus ensuring that at the unit will get more raw material and hence the production is increased, resulting in more sales volumes and hence the projected data/sales of 100 lacs for the period 2011-12 and 400 lacs for 2018-19.

Wire rod is got processed from our in house sources and NHB wire is used on the headers to make the head of the rivet. This rivet is then taken onto slotters, where the same is slotted from the center. The rivets are manufactured to ISI-3974-1967. These rivets are now nickel plated and packed for domestic and export. Screws are also manufactured using NHB wire on the Header Machines to take the head of the Screw.

The screw is then taken onto slotters and after that onto Rolling Machines for proper Thread size. The screws are now zinc plated and packed for domestic and export. 65% production of the unit is exported through merchant exporters.

Raw Material Availability

Raw material is available from CITCO/RINL. The only restriction involved is that it is released based on the assessed capacity of the SSL unit. One can also buy from the open market also.
